When someone searches about your website services into the search engines, they type few words in the search box. These words are called keywords | key phrase.

Why Keyword Research?
Keyword Research is the Backbone of all Online Marketing. As such it is the most important steps. Time spent here will be richly rewarded and time should be taken to do it properly. In fact before you build your website, you should do your keyword research thoroughly. If you already have a website, still do your keyword research and rewrite some of your website text around those words you have found with relatively high demand and low competition.

Your phrase should be an important part of the page information. If your page is about cat food, then your target phrase should include “cat food” and not just the word “cat”.
Accurate:
One of the normally tried hacks with search engine optimization is to try to optimize on a phrase that isn’t accurate for the content of the page. Just because the terms “sex” and “xxx” are popular doesn’t mean you should optimize for them on your cat food page.
Popular:
If your page is about cat food, your target phrase should be one that people will search on. People don’t search for “food” nearly as much as they search for “cat food”, so “cat food” is a better choice.

The formula for KEI is KEI = (DS^2/C) = (DS/C * DS)
DS = Number of daily world searches
C = The competition.
KEI Result – The KEI range goes from 0 to over 400.
< 0,001 = Poor keyword
0,001-0,010 = Good Keyword
0,010-0,100+ = Excellent Keyword
